So does everyone on tman have a clear conscience, .. pfft. Well those dudes on slobbins site can't have a different opinion, they don't have any freedom of speech so what makes you think they would have a conscience.

"Goods that are imported into the U.S. are required to have a country of origin marking such as; the country of manufacture, production, or growth of any article of foreign origin entering the United States. There are exceptions to this requirement. For instance, for goods that are incapable of being marked (i.e. fruit), it is appropriate to mark the outer container with the country of origin."
"Prior to importing your goods in the U.S., you should ensure the overseas supplier has marked the goods with the country of origin. For example, goods originating in China should be marked "Made in China." The marking must be legible and permanent enough for the ultimate purchaser to be made aware of the goods origin."
This was typed verbatim from U.S. Customs and Border Protection webpage.
I hope everyone understands that Rob's tearful Trapperman post, and now MTP's "Disclaimer" for the MB 550 are nothing more than an admission of guilt. I don't care how you "coat" it, or how you "frame" it, it is their twisted way to try to side step a shitshow that they initiated for monetary gain. Make no mistake about it, they are a wolf in sheep's clothing...a 100% consumer predator.
I have one piece of advice for the Caven family...you better call a plumber, because that suction sound you hear is your reputation going right down the shitter.

The disclaimer NOW ON the traps on the site. **Disclaimer: We try our very best to source all Minnesota Brand trap parts within the USA. At times in the past we have had issues sourcing sufficient quantities of particular parts from our USA suppliers. It is very important to us to provide a USA made product but also be able to provide trappers with traps. Therefore, our Minnesota Brand Traps are fully assembled by our American crew in Pennock, Minnesota with either all USA made parts or a combination of USA and minimal foreign parts when necessary to provide product to the market place. The vast majority of our MB trap parts are punched just 8 miles from our shop by LFS Tool & Die Company and sufficient quantities of those parts are never an issue**
AGAIN a LIE~~~!!!! They received PALLOTS of fully assembled traps from Taiwan PICTURES DONT LIE ~~~!!!!

One thing I can’t seem to grasp...
The photos on this thread show the MB550 beside the alleged Taiwan version.
If the original intention was to produce a Bridger version at a lower price point, WHY are the traps IDENTICAL???
These traps have no indication of country of origin, no indication they are of the Bridger brand...they are identical copies of the MB.
A photo of a “Bridger 550” with Bridger on the pan and Made in Taiwan stamped on the bottom would validate the original story. But I have this feeling such a beast does not exist.

Most people will pay a bit more for USA products, however it appears that he kept his prices high and subbed-out cheap components... I would call that that cutting a fat hog.....

I've used MB550's and 450's for a few years and really like them. I didn't buy them because of where they were made I bought them because I tried a few used ones and liked them. All that said, it's shitty for any company to bullshit their customers and it's shitty for anyone to cover for them.

So this all started (for me) over the weekend when I was bragging to a friend about five dozen 550s being given to me. That friend told me about Dwaines attempt at posting the pics on Tman. I didn't see the post but Dobbins called it "a guy playing games and if he has a problem to take it up with Caven" partly true I think. Perhaps MTP should have been given a chance to handle it on there own.
So when Dwaine told me his stories and sent me the pics I started making phone calls and found one major supplier who had some pretty damming evidence that they (MTP) had been receiving Taiwanese 550s or 550 parts going back several years.
My only interest in this is lying to trappers and as a result unfair practices against competitors. Disrespecting the "Made in USA" is a close second.
I have absolutely no I'll will towards MTP or any of the Cavens. Wouldn't know one of them from Adam.
These 550s I was given are the first ones I ever owned and they are straight out of the box ready to go. Nice traps. Wish there was a little more distance between the pan and the jaws for a deeper catch but I'm sure they will work fine.
The looks to me like MTP is Making a lot of changes to their site. You can argue that using forgeign jaws was no big deal but it looks to me like the "select" chain they were selling as USA was just a blatant lie. And the thought that they are buying thousands of assembled traps and only using the jaws ? Come on.
It would be nice if they came on here and explained where we were wrong. I would welcome it.
Sure looks like a lot of monkey business from what seems to be a reputable outfit.

I have a bunch of 550's and 450's. In my opinion, for what it's worth they are both top of the line in quality and performance. I will keep buying them as the ones that I have get lost or stolen.

I have no doubts the traps are awesome traps... it's the OUTRIGHT deception and Blatant misrepresentation that's the issue... AND he said he parents knew nothing... As Maury Povich says on tv... "that's a lie"
