Just saw this...….I find this very interesting, Dobbins posted a picture of ~12,000 MB550 frames from LFS Tool n Die Company.....some challenged him on it and the post was deleted, LOL...….NICE SWING AND ANOTHER MISS...…..PAUL, seriously!!!! Remember, there is strong evidence the TAIWAN MB550 goes back to 2012.... I saw this on MTP website: hummmm "At this time, there is a struggle sourcing suitable domestic made jaws whether it be quality, cost or production time. For the time being Minnesota Trapline does not have any 550 traps cast jaw traps available. We hope for good news later this week." Humm, it's late Oct, heading into the busiest months of trapping season........and suddenly a shortage on jaws??

What the hell did he think the response would be? What a fucking idiot!

About 8 or so years ago I was running a lot of 2 coil 550's. I didn't have the spring pins cut off and I had a coyote bite one and bend the frame. Fast forward a few years and I was telling someone on Tman to cut them off if they weren't going to 4 coil them so the same thing didn't happen to them. Had more than a few people straight up call me a liar that there was no way they could get bent. It makes me wonder now if they weren't a batch of the foreign made ones.

I'm good friends with Glenn Witchey, John Chagnon and Keith Winkler.....the sheer amount of cut throat copying of traps and tools and equipment in the trapping industry is beyond words. There so much stuff I cant talk about here for respect for people I know and legal issues....so yeah, we're sometimes out own worst enemy....

I happened to be on the site and the only chain now that says made in the USA is the twin loop and the twist link. None of the straight loop says made in USA anymore.

That’s because non of it was made in US. Even though they might not admit to their wrong doings? They’re definitely being more cautious about their advertising.

I have bought cheaper chain in the past and found bad or ground almost through links. After that always bought MTP "USA made" chain so I would not have those problems. Guess I can throw that idea out the window and just look for the best deal on chain and do a thorough check myself & look for defects. Don't mind paying for USA made as long as I am getting it.
