I wouldn't call them Jerks Brady, but there does seem to be a lot of greed involved over this nonresident deal. As far as Bob goes, he's got plenty to keep him busy. I would like to see him continue to post, but if he chooses not to, I understand and respect his decision.

Getting close to a month now........ Don't sweat it. Given a chance, LLL will fill the void. Don't even know where to start with that comment.

I would like to see Bob return. More than once, his posts would make me rethink the way I trapped. I didn't necessarily change anything, but critical thinking is good for us all.
For purely entertainment purposes:
I miss Larry.

Bob is great. I believe he is a good man and hope he returns when he is done trapping or whatever he is doing.
As far as greed and the NR deal goes, who is greedy? The one who doesn't want to share, or the one who wants to take what that man has?
I'd like to see more NR trapping opportunities but shitting in the pool because you aren't allowed to play in all of it is counter intuitive. That is how I see personally attacking other trappers who disagree with you on this issue.

Personally I've had good & bad experiences w/non residents.. several I met were super friendly and wanted to make sure they were not interfering with me or my trapping. ONE tho.. POS would set 10' either side of me..check my stuff etc. Turned out after seeing hanging bait (illegal)I had his trapsets checked by a warden that he was trapping from out of state ..w/out a valid nonresident license..they set him up w/cam's and all. They got him for 1. no license 2. breaking the reciprocity agreement (more cats than his state allowed) 3. over 72hr check by double. 4. Illegal baiting 5. not tagging his traps and more..Everyone needs to remember that it only takes ONE bad apple to spoil the lot.
You guys remember Claude Dallas??? The most infamous non resident trapper ever!!!

Not about greed or jealousy with me.
Getting rid of cities tags would go along ways with me on the issue. Not that I have have the power to change anything anyway.
Then we could discuss reciprocity.

RobertW is just being direct, honest, and to the point. I like the fact that he is not sugar coating the subject matter, and I agree with him 100%. We are not negotiating anything on this site, we are exchanging factual information at times and sharing opinions at other times. I have provided all of you, via this forum, with the judicial rulings and opinions of the US Supreme Court as well as the Second Circuit Court of Appeals of why trapping for fur and animal damage control are both commercial activities that provide for NR's having certain federally protected rights because of those facts, yet a majority of you instead of researching the issue for yourselves, probably due to your own unfounded fears of the unknown, continue to throw out meritless arguments that demonstrate your "personal greed and shortsightedness" as Robert put it. If you want to discuss the NR issue why not bring facts - legal facts - to the table instead of BS like TMIMITW's "equality/reciprocal" argument. I have discussed this issue at length with several attorneys who specialize in business and constitutional law, as well as one retired district court judge, and numerous legal scholars and all agree with me. But none of this is going to change until somebody either files a lawsuit against another state in a federal court or my brother trappers change the way they view trapping and start actually protecting the rights of all trappers as well as the industry.
I hope Bob continues his boycott of this site. The only ones losing out in this situation are those that are on this site. Aside from his comments concerning 1080 I understand where Bob was coming from in his statements regarding Pud and his historical trapping record. It was a different era with different laws, access to the animals, and animal numbers. What Put, John Ehn, Herb Lenon, and numerous others accomplished numbers wise is fascinating to me, but more important, in my opinion, is the context - the conditions, etc, - behind those numbers.

Just FYI Patrick, our wildlife commission just followed several other states down the road to perdition and banned the "commetcial" collecting of reptiles.
"Commercial" trapping is illegal in federal wilderness areas across the country right now.
Our legislature just created a $5 per trap registration law to address the "commercial" aspect of the activity.
There is a national campaign going on right now being funded by various game departments and "sportsmens" organizations extolling the virtue of the North American model of wildlife conservation.
It's based on seven principles. The second one is no "commercialization" of wildlife. Look it up.
So there are some facts for you.
As far as Bob, I'd prefer that he came back because he gives a pretty good argument at times. I've learned more from Robert than I have from Bob.
Frankly though, I can take him or leave him, I'm not one of his sycophants.

By Larry, if you mean LLL, he's here and been posting. It's no secret.
If you mean Larry Sills, he's most likely gone like the wind.
