NO Bob, I don't need any partners. Your post is almost an insult but...since your partnering up with him in Kansas this winter I'll be nice and not say anything My interest is in using them for muskrats.

they work great for rats and mink...i had a couple dozen but since we dont have many rats here anymore i changed out the jaws to make them a 1.75 with baseplates and the PIT pan system on them....
they was the old ones that had the jaws come in instead of go out thru the frame....

ya, he is coming to ks. as ground bait maybe. the old gappa formula, find an old gappa, grind fine, throw away and buy some of rk`s. I call it the kill 2 birds with one stone bait. I figured you were wanting them for rats. I remember back in the early 70`s we all used them for fox. then a few coyotes trickled in and ate them like candy. they were a terrible fox trap even, caught high and broke legs, real mess. but back then we didn`t know any better. about then the thick jawed montys came out, then on to 1 and 1/2 victors for fox, then softies, now it`s all coyotes so solved a lot of "which size to use" dillemmas. but for rats, especially on floats I bet they are the bomb. you think gappa advised his small duke traps for coyotes in his 5 coyotes in 3 days video coming out soon? or was it 3 coyotes in 5 days? lol, same difference. about like jackie malones no otter at all escapade. why the video market is about shot. now anyone can make one with no real numbers or knowledge. even big fat guys or geezers that don`t even trap anymore, that anyone can see can`t trap due to physical issues. but boy the kiddies eat it up. oh well, long as they can sleep with themselves guess none of my concern. you think rk catches 4,000 rats and carrys an extra 50-100 lbs? or me or you or anyone else really doing it? noooop. it`s got to be like a bunch of carnys running scams lately. I always wondered why these guys if they have silver tongues don`t go into car sales or something more lucrative than chump change from kiddy trappers.

you want me to name the con men? I can see the kiddies can`t grasp who they are, and I see many grown men can`t either. things like this and the nta a debacles is why I think many trappers must be lower i.q. than the general population. at least the 2-3% that join trappers assns. i mean look how gullable they are. no wonder the antis think so little of trappers. if they believe all this stuff the con men say, you and I can both figure out about how many act in the field. well....., anyone have any #2s for robert?

mn. is eventually going to go broke and have to quit paying for medical insurance for able bodied grown men. meaning steve gappa who I consider a welfare fraud and welfare mooch and no wonder he is a flaming liberal. the guy on here that took unemployment while he was trapping also is a union guy and a democrat. and another on cru did the same thing, bragged aboiu it even. it all goes hand in hand. the scary part is they feel entitled and actually get mad when they are exposed. like us poor saps carrying them are the bad guys. no, they are. and I don`t care who they are. they are bleeding all of us dry so if they get mad and dislike me, who needs friends like that anyway? I`d rather be the last guy and stand alone rather than lower my standards of ethics and honesty. that is the good news. now you can say for a fact you know a guy , and no doubt many others, that do have some pride and ethics. but it`s the minority. otherwise we wouldn`t have barok for a president now. no matter, the money will run out. I`ve got my gold and guns and still have my pride. it will work out. I`ve had guys accuse me of thinking I am better than them. I`m positive I`m better than them. you dang right I am! now, any #2`s for robert?

no, bummed about our country going down the drain due to the unemployment frauds, the medical insurance for gappa types and the crooks in washington bleeding the real working man dry to support those liberal democratic/socialist/communist louts and their ilk

Minnesota will be fine bob, worry about indiana.
As for a number 2 for rats they are a good rat trap but I'd buy a 1.5 duke. Just as good and has more uses.
It used to be you could buy the 2 low lever for 2 3 bucks but those days are pretty much gone.
I'm carrying a few extra pounds. Maybe thats why I only caught 1700 rats this year and raised 5 kids lol.

Stephen, I've got hundreds of the 1 1/2s but I'm not that happy with them (sure they eventually do the job in "most" instances). The old style numbers 2s often catch the rat by at least two feet and also catches them up higher. The shallower the water the bigger I like the trap.
I used some (maybe 6) old low levered #3s last fall in north dakota. The rats were all dead in 6" of water, many caught by the head as well.
Funny thing, about 10-12 years ago I probably sold / gave away over a 100 of those old style #2s!

I dont get to trap much in open water robert,
when I trap inside the houses in the winter I dont set for even near hair trigger. Give the rat more of a chance to bury his foot in the trap.
In the hut a guy catches a few rats a day by the head. Even more so with the 2's. I like a dead rat by the head. Comes out easy and dry.
