Bob is busy lining up permissions in Montana. I'm pulling out Friday. Awful early. Nope, we want to catch the easy ones before they are all killed. A MT Oct. coyote should be worth something. |

I always started about the second week in the high country 8500 ft. LOts of mornings you was looking down thru the clouds. A few mornings looking thru the whore-frost. I would move down about 500 ft per week as the fur primed up. nothing below 7500 till mid November

Amen for my friend Grump and what he has had to deal with. One of the few originals and free thinkers on here. Life can be very cruel. Bob is a narcissist and an asshole on his best day. He is probably off denning and clubbing red fox pups somewhere and not plugged in to the Drama Queen Site. And enjoying every minute. He will be back, guaranteed. I don't know you Gus, so I will not comment. I do know Bob W and meet Robert a couple weeks ago. Both stand-up guys in my book. Actions speaks much louder than a web posting. Mike |

Pretty muddy here and sounds like more coming in the next few days, eastern Mt. might be drier near the N.D. border but I think this ground will be frozen as hard as a rock by the 15-20 Nov, if not earlier as wet as it is and the night temps are dropping into the 20's. Oh well ! Maybe sooner this year putting the moisture in ground one cold snap. Could be bad if they gotter predicted correctly. Sounds like more rain showers tomorrow afternoon and then wind, was 26 here this morning and we still have some snow drifts here, they don't melt all that fast when it only gets in the 40's during the day. Might be a year for a lot of snares out |

Gus is a fine guy, he's not the kind to take any shit though.
He's done more for trappers than 99% of other trappers that I know.
This thing between he and I and Wendt and Waddell goes back aways.
It works both ways as far as what is said on here.

I think by and far we all get along on here. Having a peeing contest doesn't mean your not getting along. Id have a beer with anyone of you guys on here. Even if you did cuss me the day before, but I don't let this stuff on here get under my skin.

Differences of opinion are ok,
In fact good for a person ,be pretty boring hearing everybody agree with you all the time.

I first met Gus at Blackfoot, Idaho a few years ago and he is an outstanding gentleman and very knowledgeable of whatever subject you pick to talk about. He came up this way trapping that same fall and I had all the written permission slips all signed and some great coyote areas all lined out for him. He is no rookie at the trapping and a very pleasant man to be around. I also know he keeps his Jesus nuts tight to specs........................  |
