Imo I believe the nr issue is perspective problem. 1 either you believe the resources belongs to the state residents. And you believe that state has the right to be managed the way that state sees fit. Or 2 you believe the resources belongs to a resident of the USA.

SO....... if we took NR's and NTA and urine out of the equation, what would be our next bitch? Not trapping coyotes while catching bobcats IE wildlife management. Or culling you cat catch thusly negatively affecting one's trend data. Or that a 5 point is actually a ten point Or that walleyes taste better than catfish Or how about the grand daddy of them all, check times?

Damn, I'd rather eat walleye than beaver. Umm..... let me rephrase that. Double entendre. I know, Bob and Robert took their balls and went home so no one left to pick on. Uh oh, another DE. Uhm, I actually disagree with some of your assessments, about NR trapping but unlike others, I take your opinions into consideration and respect them. Others should take that to heart. The playing field isn't ever going to be level. It is no secret I and others have been working towards getting nr trapping passed in MN and the snide comments and flaming by some people(Robert, bob et al) equating those who dont see it as I do are antis isn't helping my position one bit and in fact are making it more difficult. I like your perspective Steven. I'd like to trap 5 cats in Oregon and be able to trap 5 in NV. What you said about equality is true and I wish Joel would come up with a better argument than that. That being said, I know a hell of a lot more could be accomplished working with Joel than pissing and moaning about NV trapping regs and taking shots at him. Insulting people never really persuades them to see things your way. I've been guilty of doing the same.

Its amazing that folks just cant accept states rights. Thats the way this country is set up. You cant hold trappers in a certain state accountable for what our Constitution says. I am the biggest proponent for over state lines/NR trapping. Hell...Im self employed and sometimes do my biz out of state! But any argument against state laws is foolish and time consuming bullshit. Lets move on fighting for rights in each state wether we can trap there or not.

I really do empathize with those of you that want NR trapping.
I use ND and MN as the perfect example. If I lived in MN I'd be beating the reciprocity drum with both hands. You have everything to gain and nothing to loose just in gaining access to ND. When I lived in ND I absolutely positively did NOT want to see MN go reciprocal. Nothing to gain with MN reciprocity with their crappier fur (or good fur with no current market for that species) and more restrictive regs.
I empathize.
I wish some of the pro NR crowd would empathize with those of us in desirable fur regions who maybe don't want to see NR pressure.

I can see that.
Right now, a few folks from here are hunting in Mt and not around while I trap their land. I'm liking that .
