Bought this thing in 2004, as soon as the MFG warranty went out (2006) problems with the wiring harness (shorting out) and carberator started.
Carberator is alway fowling, allowing debris to build up, when you turn on the gas, steady flow of gas is dumped on the engine. (350.00 a pop to have that fixed is done at the shop)
Have used all the remedys available as far as fuel treatment.
Finally found the short in the wiring harness by the steering column.
Any one else had problems with their ARCTIC KRAP.

i got one that has over 6,000 miles, and another with 1,200 or so, and they get used hard in all conditions. They sit on the trailer during cat season and start up when it is -30 with no issues. run them 75-100 miles, then back on the trailer.
I think it is an individual thing. I've owned 3 arctic cats, 2 hondas, 1 kawasaki, and a yamaha and never had any real issues with any other than the yammie. Have friends who have nothing but issues with polaris, then other friends that never have issues with them.
Same as cars I guess. Some cant seem to keep their gmc on the road, yet mine has 185,000 and never have much in the way of problems.
same old same old.

Well I definitly got that one that was a lemon, going HONDA next, dont really have a choice down here it is all behind locked gate trapping, no road side trapping and public land is absolutely out of the question.
Yep and I have talked with Carlis at legnth on his troubles with the machines and the company to boot, that company is not user friendly

I think Carlis is still involved in a clas action suit against Artic Cat for frame problems on their machines.
RNations, You have a Honda Super Dealer at Brookhaven Mississippi. When I purchase my last 4 wheeler (500 Foreman) I saved enough money ($2000) over the local dealerships to warrant the drive down their to do business with them.
The best machine I ever owned was a Suzuki.

why are you even having to deal with the company? Your dealer should take care of you for anything like you are talking about. Would you call the gm plant if your truck broke down, or would you go to a gm dealer? You need to pressure your dealer for satisfaction if he aint giving it to you.

Sir you are correct should not have to deal direct HOWEVER the dealer I purchased from was horrible as far as customer service. He has been out of business for about 3 years now due to his business practices.
While the bike was under warranty, bide stopped in the middle of a swamp, on a new beaver contract, took it to the shop, FOUR months later, bike was returned after I theatened to remove the bike by force. Two months later it broke down again, same problem, in the middle of a beaver job. Warrantly was expired and the dealer charged me almost 400 dollars. 2 months later broke down again, same problem. On and On and On and On.
With that said and no where else to turn I turned to the MFG regarding the quite common wiring harness malfunctions (as I later found out, much like motrapperjohn and his frame problems). Constant calls, and emails and till this day I have not received a return call from the company, 5 years later.
They still send emails regarding new models but will not contact me regarding any complaints that I have filed.
So HONDA it is.

Richard, I tried to warn your butt, but no one listens to me. At least your frame is still in one peice. And lawsuite is still going on. Your gas problem was caused by crap getting in the needle seat area, cats are bad for that.

Thanks for the advice, however in my own defense you did not tell me about the arctic cat until 2006 after I bought it, where were you in 2004 trapping or something.
Thanks for the info on the leak, I going to dismantle the beast tonight.

Have a 2003 4x4 Auto bought in the summer of 2002 and as far as I'm concern.... It is a very good ATV.
Had only one thing who broke and it was my fault... A boot in the front when I pulled out some logs out of the dirty brush.

I had and arctic cat and you are right, biggest POS I've ever had. I've owned five ATV's, one good Suzuki, one crap, one crap AC, and a honda that has never given me one problem.

There for a long time AC did not build their own ATVs ,it was when they started doing their own frames when it got really bad. Of coarse, bushings and bearings have always been junk
