Good looking trap. Maybe I could even catch a cat in one of those.

Phil , you are gonna mess around and make cage trapping profitable if you keep designing stuff like that. That is a nice one. Is it collapsible too?

I will be making that trap in a collapsible. That is a solid trap, but it was a prototype, now I will go ahead and make a new one in the next few days, that I just designed. I think it will rock, a double door trap that will weigh around 20 lbs and can be assembled in less than one minute. That will be super let me know what you want for one.

Nice way to set ...But....what makes the cat step on the "Elevated" pan in the center?

I have a few places in mind where this trap will out perform a single door. cats have no problems stepping on a raised pan in a single door trap.

In a single door trap they have know place to go around/over a pan........and "some" place "things" in the cage to force them on to it...

set this trap up right and a cat will step in a pan 4" wide . my thoughts anyway.

I think double doors do have a place on the trapline. A couple of Colorado cagers come to mind that use them extensively, and with great success I might add. For what we have left in CO, I think it is another tool that can be utilized in specific situations. I think the jury is still out on lengths of the cages needed to be effective, and the treadle size.
But we went through that with single doors before Yancy and Aiton did a ton of research on what was the most effective set up for bobcats. Pioneers so to speak in the caging aspect.
I'd be curious to see what bill1306 finds out with the double doors, and what the cameras dictate what the cats do.

Some folks I know have been getting cat to step on pans 2" round for years. So I ask why a cat would not step on one 4" ?? I am not saying this is the best size pan but I do know it works.

"cat to step on pans 2" round for years" Six bits.....You Can not Honestly Believe that using Steel to trap......... in the same As using wire? "I am not saying this is the best size pan" I think the Goal is FINDING what is BeST,,,,,, electronic trigger can be cool alternative that allow for cage configurations that most would not dream of........ BUT have there down falls as well.............................
